Meet Daniel Kenneston

Seven years. I began teaching Geography and US History, then spent a few years teaching Western Civilization I, and have even had the opportunity to teach Economics and Government. I now teach Civics I and II.

Right out of college, my wife and I were accepted into the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. We taught English to Japanese students in Ishikawa Prefecture for three years. My stint in Japan taught me much about myself, my wife, and my country (as well as Japan!) I have carried many of those lessons with me in my time at PRCA.

I grew up outside of Reno, Nevada. I earned my bachelor's degree in Global Studies from Colorado Christian University, and my master's in Humanities from the University of Dallas.

My wife attended PRCA when she was a high school student, and she is the reason we moved to Tucson. When we moved here, it was just the two of us, and she was also a teacher at PRCA then. Now, we have two sons, ages 4 & 2, and an infant daughter.

Running, mostly. I help coach the cross country team, and I run recreationally as well, spending hours each week on the Loop Trail or the streets in midtown.

I hope that in addition to my subject matter, I help students learn about perseverance. Talent, circumstances, and ability go a long way... but in the end it's perseverance that wins out. The school setting allows for incredible opportunity for teaching this lesson!

I love my co-workers and the community we have. They are my trusted friends, my mentors, and my fellow pilgrims on the path to sanctification.

I always think of CS Lewis's "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" when asked this question. In the book, Lucy asks Mr. Beaver if Aslan is safe. He responds, "Safe? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you.” Christian education is important for families to consider because, while not safe (after all, many ideas we teach would land kids in hot water in today's society) the King we serve is good. PRCA is a place where Christ and His Kingdom are discussed and taught openly and honestly.
