Fine Arts

Grammar Campus

Art and music classes are part of the curriculum for Kindergarten through 5th grade throughout the week. Carols for Christmas is the all-campus Christmas concert, held in December, and the 5th grade vocal and band concert is held each spring. The largest event of the year on the Grammar Campus is the annual Shakespeare Festival, held in early May.

South Campus

The South Campus offers music classes at various levels, from beginner to advanced, under its Mariachi program led by Señora MonaLisa Amado. A variety of instruments will be included - strings, brass, and choral. Get ready for Mariachi worship!

Middle School

Middle school band and choir classes meet regularly. Sixth grade students participate in three concerts during the school year and 7th & 8th graders perform in four. Drama classes feature a performance at the end of each semester. Visual art classes are also a popular elective for this age group.

High School

Fine arts elective classes include drawing, pottery, painting, and digital arts. Performing arts options include concert band, men’s chorus, women’s chorus, a mixed ensemble and percussion groups. Our band and choir perform at school and community events. The B.O.W. Company (Built on the Word) presents both a fall and spring drama production.

Fall Production: American Folk Tales and Legends

Friday, November 21: 7:00 PM in the MPR
Saturday, November 22: 1:00 PM & 7:00 PM in the MPR

"Tall tales, folktales, talking tales, noodles, whoppers, windies, stretchers — everyone has a different name for these stories.  Whatever you call them, America’s legends come to life in this lively, delightful, award-winning play that will appeal to all ages.  When P.T. Barnum arrives in town with his traveling troupe, the mayor isn’t so sure Barnum’s on the level.  So the master showman agrees to give a sample of his wares.  What follows is knee slappin’, foot stompin’, rip roarin’ fun, as some of the best-loved characters in American folklore come to life to show us their stories.  As P.T. Barnum might say, prepare to be amused, amazed, astounded, edified, and infinitely entertained.  Easy to stage; sure to please.  And now — on with the show!"
